    • @sullie35
      @sullie35 14 дней назад

      @PowerEquipmentMan Thank you for all your expertise on these Yamaha's. I went ahead and bought it and it doesn't have the high speed gearing as you said it wouldnt...so I turned up the tension on the governor to the limit of where you stated in another video by tightening the 10mm nut and used GPS to determine the speed and it does exactly 19mph and sounded like probably around 3500 rpm...but the check engine light came on and no flashes..Just stays on...I had already checked the oil before I bought it and it was clean and full...after the light came on I checked the oil again and it's full right at the line on the stick. I'm not sure what to do as Yamahas website shows the nearest yamaha service center is like 4 or 5hrs away in Michigan...I feel like I A. Should have bought a carburetorated cart or a ezgo or club car... Always had the older yamahas and starting to wish I never bought this because of all the diagnostics that have to be done on a efi versus a carbed cart... May you can give me some advice on this.....I hate doing this cause it's like begging for free information..and thats not my style but don't know what else to do...

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan 14 дней назад

      @@sullie35 Usually if the light just stays on, it is the low oil sensor. I have seen those sensors fail before. It would be pretty easy to test if it is a bad sensor by just unplugging the sensor. It is on the backside of the engine with just one wire plugged into it. The Yamaha EFI system is pretty simple, there really isn't much to go wrong with them. If the cart is running fine, I'm sure it's nothing big. You can't go off of the Yamaha dealer locator. It usually only shows the big dealers or distributors. Chances are there is a smaller Yamaha dealer somewhere close to you. Google works best to find them.

    Just a random comment...the Raptor and Raptor SD were meant for residential use. Not commercial. They were made to a price point and the frame was not built to hold up to the same stresses as Hustler's commercial lines. The Fastrak is a really good high end residential or low end commercial option. I've had some of these failures on my SD, but knew what I was getting into when I bought it. It has always done great at regular lawn stuff. Take it past that into mowing fields with anything taller than the deck and cut quality and speed suffers dramatically. The Kawasaki engine has never missed a beat and is fairly easy to maintain. Biggest pain point for me is that I've had to repair and replace the PTO connector and wire many times. It is right close to the muffler and I think it just gets cooked and brittle over time. Really annoying to be in the middle of mowing and suddenly can't turn on the blades and the mower is too hot to reach in and reconnect the wires!

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan 17 дней назад

      It always amazed me how many people thought that they could spend $3000 on a Raptor 52" and think that they could go mow 5 or 10 acres a week with it and expect it to last for 20 years with no problems. I always did my best to explain to them the differences between a $3k mower and a $10k mower, but most of them didn't want to listen, then complain when their Raptor was worn out after a couple years. As you said, they were good machine for that price point, but were not built like a commercial machine. Thanks for watching!

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan 29 дней назад

      Since most fleet models don't come with hour meters, it's tough to determine what a "normal" engine life span is. As long as it was maintained well, I would guess that 1400 hours is about half way through it's engine life. That being said, 1400 hours and 1400 miles are two completely different things. I'm sure that it didn't drive 1 mph, so there is no way that it would have 1400 hours and 1400 miles at the same time. 1400 miles would only be about 5 or 6 tanks of fuel, so very low miles. I would assume that they just mean 1400 hours.

    They should have recalled these machines and did the upgrades that would’ve been the right thing to do
